MDL System-WK is an integrated manufacturing system. "Integrated" means it has already included the core modules of a modern SQL database style manufacturing system. Therefore it can be easily deploy at many manufacturing facilities across different industrial sectors. Like our other product "MDL Warehouse Keeper 2.5 -Customized & Modular ERP system" it can be customized based on customer's requirements. But it also has the advantage that it can be deployed successfully in a relatively short period of time. Thus, cutting the deployment cost.

General description:

The system consists of many modules which form the core of a modern manufacturing and ERP system. Some of them are:

Warehousing control module
The control of material movement is very important. Raw materials and semi-finished parts form the basis of manufacturing management. We must know at any give time how much materials we have in our manufacturing facilities. Thus a real time warehousing control system is necessary. This module records warehousing transactions in real time. And it records in detail where, when, what, and how each transaction is happened. Material reports and stock reports can be prepare at any time to present the planning of material requirement.

Product design and BOM (Bill of Material) module
This module handles the Master part list (listing of every part used in the manufacturing process). From the Master part list, product engineers can draw up the BOM for each product. In the manufacturing process, there are two source of parts: one from the internal manufacturing system and the other from the external manufacturing suppliers. Material Purchasing module
For many industries, purchasing is a major and very important function. Materials and out-source parts must arrive 1) in time; 2) to meet the quantity requirement; 3) to meet the quality requirement. Many factories suffer great loss not because of their manufacturing mistakes but of the mistakes of their suppliers (e.g. late delivery, less than the expected quantity, poor quality). Production control module
This module monitors and provide analysis of the daily production line running. It records the running of production line HOURLY. The management can know exacting how many pieces are products in each production line, how many pieces passed Q.C, failed Q.C., repaired/non-repairable. They can measure the completion percentage of each production order (in % percentage). User-friendly Windows appearance interfaces
All interfaces (screens) are in user-friendly Windows appearance. Most operation can be done by mouse click.

Interactive Interface design (Input & Selection field)
When you type in the letter "%ap" in Part # field, the selection sub-menu will immediately change to display all Part # containing the letter "ap" (% means any character in front of "ap"); from the sub-menu you can now easily choose the Part # you want to select. User Rights Control
Users need to enter their Username & Password in order to access the system. Administrator can easily control user's right to access and modify database.

Types of users and individual module access control:
Read-Only: user can only read data from the database.
Write-&-Edit: user can read and add new transaction record to the database and change the content of a transaction record. But cannot delete a transaction record.
Power user: having rights of Write-&-Edit user and can delete a transaction record.
Module access control: users can be allowed or disallowed from accessing individual module.

Minimum number of Interface Screen
Because of the use of Interactive Input & Selection field and Multiple Transaction Input in a single screen, we can simplify the design of the application. (Some third-party design uses 3 times the number of interface screen to do the same job)

Database Replication module
Multiple SQL databases in different location (China-1, China-2, Hong Kong) can synchronize their data at a pre-set time each day. Replication can be by many ways: 1) Email - Data at the target server is downloaded as an Excel document and email to the other server for synchronization, 2) FTP - Data at the target server is automatically sent to an FTP server as files and other server will download for synchronization.

Automated Input module
Using Bar-code scanner & reader to fast inputting part # into the database and eliminate errors. Suitable for high volume transaction facilities.

China Import/Export Booking Management module
Assist Import/Export Customs clearing staff to record and calculate the balance on each Import/Export Book of raw material/finish good, in order to comply with China Customs rules and avoid being fined for miscalculation.

Remote Access module
This module enable the remote access of any authorized user from the Internet. Thus saving long distance phone cost. The remote user can be notified of the IP address of local machine by email, he/she then can use our Remote Access module to access the system as if he/she were sitting in front of the local machine.
